Casablanca Airport: Tunisian Man Arrested Under 30-Year Prison Sentence
National security forces at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca apprehended a 47-year-old Tunisian citizen on Monday evening, who is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities.
An official source stated that the suspect was arrested immediately upon arrival on a flight from Tunisia. A check against the International Criminal Police Organization’s (Interpol) database revealed that he was wanted internationally based on a red notice issued by the National Central Bureau in Paris since 2021, in order to enforce a court ruling.
According to preliminary investigation data, the foreign national is wanted internationally after having escaped while serving a 30-year prison sentence for his involvement in a series of thefts from commercial establishments in France, as part of an organized criminal gang, armed with firearms and motor vehicles. Additionally, he is implicated in a case related to drug possession and committing a murder using a firearm in the Netherlands.
