Head of Government Azziz Akhannouch chaired a meeting yesterday, Tuesday, in Rabat, dedicated to monitoring the implementation of the employment sector roadmap. This meeting is part of a series of gatherings he oversees to activate this roadmap and ensure effective governance and coordination mechanisms among various stakeholders.

The meeting, the second of its kind since the issuance of the roadmap publication last February, focused on ways to enhance the social and professional integration of vulnerable groups, especially youth and women, and to support rural families. This will be achieved through initiatives aimed at reducing job losses in the agricultural sector, facilitating women’s access to the labor market, and combating school dropouts.

Participants discussed practical mechanisms to stimulate employment in rural areas, particularly by encouraging youth to establish startups in agriculture. They also reviewed measures taken to reduce school dropout rates through supporting entrepreneurship programs, expanding second chance schools, and enhancing vocational training.

The meeting also addressed actions related to enabling women to work, particularly by overcoming obstacles related to childcare through strengthening the network of nurseries.

The Head of Government emphasized the need for coordination among sectors to ensure effective interventions, asserting that employment is a national priority due to its direct impact on the dignity of citizens and the stability of families. He highlighted the importance of adopting good governance to accompany the implementation of this policy.

The overall cost of the roadmap, which includes eight practical initiatives to revitalize the job market and reduce unemployment, is approximately 15 billion dirhams, as part of a comprehensive government mobilization to support job opportunities across various sectors.
