Agreement to Enhance Digital Inclusion Between the Ministry of Economic Inclusion and Swedish Giant “Ericsson”

The Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills signed a memorandum of understanding with Swedish telecom giant Ericsson on Monday in Marrakech, aimed at enhancing digital inclusion in Morocco.

Under this agreement, signed on the sidelines of the third edition of GITEX Africa Morocco, both parties commit to exploring various areas through which entrepreneurs and small businesses in Morocco can benefit from Ericsson’s educational initiatives and access diverse educational experiences through the extensive educational programs offered by the Swedish group, along with its expertise in digital transformation.

This cooperation will aid entrepreneurs and business leaders in acquiring essential digital skills that are key in the 21st century, contributing to sustainable employment and supporting innovation across various sectors. This partnership aligns with the Ministry’s vision to promote economic inclusion and support small businesses.

Younes Skouri, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, stated in a press release that this memorandum aims to accelerate the pace of digital inclusion in Morocco, noting that this partnership will enrich the national entrepreneurship ecosystem.

On the other hand, Magda Lahlo Qassi, Deputy President of Ericsson and Head of Ericsson West Africa, explained that this agreement will allow the Swedish company to share its expertise and provide its educational platforms for the benefit of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Kingdom, which is among the most resilient on the continent.
