Hicham Blawy Takes Office as the New Head of the Public Prosecution, Succeeding Moulay Hassan Dakki

On the morning of Wednesday, May 14, 2025, a ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Public Prosecution in Rabat for the handover of responsibilities between Hicham Belawi, the new Attorney General at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecution, and his predecessor, Moulay Hassan Daki, following Belawi’s appointment by King Mohammed VI, President of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary.

Numerous judicial and administrative officials attended the ceremony, expressing their appreciation for the work accomplished by Daki during his tenure as President of the Public Prosecution, praising the achievements he made in enhancing justice and the independence of the judiciary.

In a speech delivered on this occasion, Hicham Belawi expressed his pride in the royal trust placed in him, confirming his commitment to continue efforts to uphold the independence of the judiciary, enforce the rule of law, defend rights and freedoms, and strengthen the nation’s constants.

He also highlighted the role played by his predecessor, Moulay Hassan Daki, emphasizing his professional journey and dedication to the values of integrity and commitment to serving justice.

Belawi concluded his speech by reaffirming his commitment to enhancing the performance of the Public Prosecution, engaging with various stakeholders, promoting good governance principles, and building citizens’ trust in the judicial institution by protecting rights and implementing the rule of law.
