On Wednesday in Rabat, the second day of the fourth RENEWPAC summit continued with in-depth discussions on the future of the African-European partnership amid the geopolitical and economic transformations occurring globally. This event featured a group of political leaders, parliamentarians, and experts from both continents.
The day saw the presence of the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, who made a notable speech emphasizing the pivotal role that youth can play in reshaping the foundations of cooperation between Africa and Europe. He stated that the real challenge lies not only in agreements but also in investing in human capital, particularly among emerging generations.
During his participation in one of the sessions focused on youth issues and societal transformation, Bensaid highlighted that current challenges—whether related to digital transformation, the job market, or migration—require the inclusion of youth in decision-making positions and providing them with the necessary tools for innovation and initiative. He stressed that Morocco has accumulated significant experience in this area that can be shared with African and European partners.
The government official also pointed out that culture and communication are crucial drivers for enhancing understanding between peoples, urging the adoption of new approaches based on dialogue and openness to help overcome stereotypes and build more balanced relationships across the Mediterranean.
Bensaid’s participation on this second day reflects the dynamic role Morocco has begun to play in international forums, no longer merely hosting events but actively influencing discussions and shaping perspectives related to the future of regional and international cooperation.
The summit will continue until tomorrow, Thursday, which will mark the final phase of this international event. There are hopes that the outcomes will lead to practical recommendations that could strengthen the “win-win” partnership logic and solidify Africa’s position as an active strategic partner within the international system, aiming to build more balanced and sustainable relationships with the European space.
