The National Observatory for Children’s Rights (ONDE), under the auspices of Princess Lalla Meryem, has signed a partnership agreement with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) aimed at supporting a structural initiative to enhance the right to education in Morocco.
The observatory stated in an official communiqué that the agreement will facilitate the implementation of the “Assessment for Transformation: The Right to Education in Morocco” project, which falls within a national strategy in line with the directives of King Mohammed VI. The project aims to reinforce the legal framework and public policies to align with Morocco’s international commitments regarding the right to education.
This project encompasses several key areas, including analyzing the compatibility of national policies with international laws and enhancing national capacities in rights-based analysis. Additionally, it aims to prepare a clear roadmap of priorities to support ongoing reforms in the education sector.
The communiqué also indicated that the project’s implementation could benefit from complementary initiatives, including organizing training sessions for national stakeholders to enhance the practical impact of policies.
