Morocco Strengthens Anti-Human Trafficking Efforts with the Launch of a Victim Protection Guide
Morocco has intensified its fight against human trafficking by launching a new reference guide aimed at enhancing the identification and protection mechanisms for victims, during a ceremony held in Rabat.
This guide, prepared by the National Committee for Coordinating Anti-Human Trafficking Measures in partnership with the Council of Europe, is part of the implementation of national commitments and the strengthening of the legal framework, particularly Law No. 27.14, as well as the activation of the national plan for the period 2023-2026.
The reference serves as a practical tool for justice system professionals and various stakeholders, aiming to enhance their capacities for early identification of human trafficking victims and to improve methods of care in a manner that respects human dignity and considers social and psychological dimensions.
Additionally, the guide includes a set of methodological tools that contribute to standardizing professional practices and improving the quality of services provided, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of interventions in this field.
This work was prepared as part of the “MA-JUST” program, funded jointly by the European Union and the Council of Europe, aimed at promoting a more protective and efficient justice system in the Kingdom.
The launch ceremony featured speeches from several officials and experts, including Hicham Malati, who emphasized the importance of this guide as a practical mechanism for enhancing victim protection and intensifying national and international efforts to prevent this crime.
