Morocco and France Discuss Ways to Enhance Their Economic Partnership with a Shared Strategic Vision
Thursday’s discussions in Rabat between Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour and French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness Nicolas Forissier have bolstered the growing dynamics of economic and trade relations between Morocco and France.
During the meeting, both sides affirmed that the visit of the French delegation aims to strengthen existing economic partnerships based on a “win-win” principle, particularly by fostering closer ties between Moroccan and French companies, thus opening new avenues for cooperation and investment.
In this context, Forissier highlighted that the bilateral relations have seen exceptional dynamism since French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent visit to Morocco, noting that, thanks to its development strategies, the Kingdom has become an increasingly attractive hub for international investors.
The French official emphasized that France remains the leading foreign investor in Morocco, citing the presence of major industrial groups in the automotive sector, including Renault and Stellantis, along with Transdev’s involvement in managing the Rabat tramway in partnership with local authorities.
For his part, Mezzour stated that this meeting was an opportunity to reaffirm the mutual desire to strengthen economic and trade relations and to frame them within a strategic vision extending over the medium and long term, benefitting both countries.
The minister noted that Forissier’s visit, accompanied by a delegation of around thirty French companies operating in strategic sectors, reflects a practical approach to enhancing Morocco’s attractiveness and supporting structured cooperation projects between economic actors in both countries.
He also emphasized that France’s support is a key lever for Morocco’s ambition to establish itself as a regional platform attractive to investments and businesses.
The two sides concluded their discussions by reaffirming their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and engaging in a sustainable cooperation path based on mutual benefit.
