A recent international report revealed Morocco’s progress in upgrading primary health centers as part of reforms aimed at improving access to healthcare services and enhancing the quality of health provision, although some challenges related to governance and resource management were noted.
The report highlights that the kingdom has made significant strides in developing healthcare infrastructure, particularly through the rehabilitation and equipping of local health centers, which has contributed to improving basic services and bringing them closer to citizens, especially in rural and remote areas.
Conversely, the report pointed out challenges at the governance level, including the management of human resources and their equitable distribution across various regions, as well as the need to strengthen coordination among different stakeholders in the health system.
The report also called for the continuation of reforms aimed at improving the efficiency of the sector through modernizing management mechanisms, enhancing digitization, and streamlining procedures, ensuring the sustainability of achievements and greater efficiency in the provision of healthcare services.
The report confirms that this dynamic reflects Morocco’s commitment to developing its health system, despite the challenges related to administration and governance, with the aim of achieving a more efficient and equitable healthcare system.
