Follow-Up
Casablanca is preparing to host the second edition of the International Festival of Cinema and Equality, which will take place from April 22 to 26, 2026, under the slogan: “The Camera Against Digital Violence.”
The organization of this event by the Challenge Association for Equality and Citizenship aims to establish this cultural, artistic, and human rights event as a space that combines cinematic creativity and societal discussions on issues of equality and women’s rights.
This edition focuses on the theme of digital violence against women and girls, emphasizing the role of cinema as a means of expression and analysis, and questioning social transformations, particularly in light of the rise of forms of violence linked to the digital realm.
The festival also aims to highlight the significance of women’s cinema by celebrating the works of female directors, artists, and writers, and illuminating their contributions to dismantling stereotypes and enhancing the representation of women’s issues in the cultural field.
The festival program includes film screenings, intellectual seminars, and open meetings, alongside tribute segments and professional activities, featuring artistic and media personalities from Morocco and abroad, within an approach that positions art as a gateway to fostering dialogue on equality issues.
This edition will also serve as an opportunity to honor prominent figures in the fields of cinema, thought, art, and journalism, in recognition of their contributions to advocating for the values of freedom and dignity.
This event aligns with the vision of the organizing association, which sees culture as a tool for awareness and advocacy, enhancing societal consciousness on women’s issues through support for cinema committed to the values of justice and equality.
The complete program for the festival, including the list of participating films, guests, and parallel events, is expected to be announced later.
