The U.S. Central Command and the Kuwait Ministry of Defense confirmed on Monday that three American F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets crashed over Kuwaiti territory, with all six crew members successfully ejecting and being rescued unharmed.
The U.S. military stated that the incident occurred on Sunday evening at 11:03 PM Eastern Time, during a mission supporting Operation Epic Fury. The crash resulted from friendly fire from Kuwaiti air defenses during an air engagement involving attacks from Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones.
The Kuwait Ministry of Defense reported that the crews were promptly transported to the hospital for medical care, and their condition is stable, emphasizing direct coordination with U.S. forces to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A joint statement indicated that investigations are ongoing to determine the causes of the fighters’ crash, with assurances that official information will be released as it becomes available.
