The government allocates over 79 million dirhams to enhance education for children with disabilities

Continuing its support for the program aimed at improving the educational conditions of children with disabilities, the government has begun disbursing financial assistance to 416 associations for the 2025-2026 school year, according to Abdel Jabbar Rachidi, Secretary of State for Social Integration at the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family.

In a written response to a parliamentary question from MP Fadwa Mohsen Al-Hayani of the Movement Popular group, Rachidi explained that the government’s interventions in this area focus on providing a range of supplementary services for children with disabilities, including educational support, rehabilitation, and semi-medical services, as part of the program under the Social Protection and Social Cohesion Support Fund.

The government official noted ongoing efforts to enhance the governance of the program through digitization of processes, improving targeting, and rationalizing expenditures, alongside the universalization of disability certificates across services, strengthening monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, and updating the procedural guide for these services based on the recommendations of partner associations.

Additionally, a digital platform has been established for the program, providing precise data on beneficiary associations and their geographical distribution, as well as the number of children benefiting by disability type. This contributes to the governance and performance enhancement of the program.

Rachidi confirmed that the program has achieved significant results in recent years, with approximately 27,692 beneficiaries of rehabilitation, educational support, and semi-medical services during 2024, through services provided by 437 associations, with a financial envelope of 396 million dirhams.

The number of beneficiaries for the 2025-2026 academic year is projected to be around 27,884 individuals with disabilities, supported by 416 associations, with the same financial amount of around 396 million dirhams.

In total, the allocations dedicated by the government to support this program over two years have reached 792 million dirhams, as part of efforts to improve educational conditions for children with disabilities and enhance their integration into the educational system.

Rachidi emphasized that the files of the associations requesting support were reviewed by specialized committees, and disbursement of the allocated financial resources has begun to enable them to continue providing their services under optimal conditions for children with disabilities.
