Finnish Minister of Agriculture Begins Visit to Morocco Tomorrow to Enhance Cooperation in Forestry and Water
The Finnish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Sari Essayah, will commence an official visit to Morocco starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, lasting until March 27. This visit aims to expand the horizons of bilateral cooperation and enhance economic exchanges between the two countries.
This visit is part of efforts to develop the Moroccan-Finnish partnership, with a specific focus on the forestry sector and water resource management. The minister will be accompanied by a delegation of businessmen representing companies and expertise specialized in these fields.
The itinerary includes meetings with Moroccan government officials, including ministers overseeing agriculture, forestry, and water sectors, in addition to participation in events organized by the National Agency for Water and Forests, as well as dedicated working sessions to explore collaboration opportunities in scientific research.
This initiative reflects Morocco’s growing interest in benefiting from Finnish experience in sustainable forestry and innovative solutions related to the bio-economy, alongside its advanced expertise in water management.
In a statement, the Finnish minister affirmed that Morocco represents a promising market for the wood industry, noting the significant potential for developing partnerships in water expertise. She expressed hope that this visit would pave the way for new cooperation that enhances Finland’s presence in sustainable development projects within the Kingdom.
