Spain’s coach supports Morocco and praises CAF’s decision to award it the Africa Cup of Nations title, retracting it from Senegal.
Luis de la Fuente, coach of the Spanish national team, commented on the Confederation of African Football’s decision to strip Senegal of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 title, despite their victory over Morocco in the final.
In a press conference ahead of the friendly match between Spain and Serbia, De la Fuente stated, “If I were in Senegal’s shoes, I would be extremely angry about the decision, and conversely, if I were in Morocco’s shoes, I would be overjoyed.” He added, “The decision-makers set the tone, and we can only accept these decisions.”
It is worth noting that Senegal claimed the championship in the final against Morocco with a goal in extra time, before CAF took the controversial decision to withdraw the title and award it to Morocco.
