Pakistan announces the arrest of one of the most dangerous wanted human traffickers… Pakistani police commend Hamouchi’s efforts

The Pakistani Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has announced the arrest of Qasid Ali, one of the most wanted human traffickers, in the city of Gujranwala, in the northeastern Punjab region. This follows his involvement in a boat capsizing incident that transported Pakistani migrants near the shores of Dakhla, Morocco, last year.

According to a statement from the agency, the accused was a key member of an international human trafficking network, collecting large sums from victims under the promise of transporting them to Europe, only to illegally transfer them to Africa. Some victims reportedly paid around 3.3 million rupees each, only to end up in Mauritania, where they faced torture, forced labor, and inhumane treatment.

Qasid Ali faces charges of human trafficking, extortion, forced labor, fraud, and causing the deaths of migrants.

The incident occurred at the beginning of last year when the boat capsized near the shores of Dakhla. The Royal Moroccan Navy intervened to rescue the migrants, and the survivors were returned to Pakistan in cooperation with the Pakistani embassy in Rabat.

During an official meeting between Pakistani and Moroccan security officials, Salman Chaudhry, the Acting Inspector General of Police in Pakistan, praised the efforts made by Moroccan authorities, especially the General Director of the Moroccan National Police, Abdelatif Hamouchi, in protecting Pakistani citizens affected by trafficking networks, expressing deep gratitude for Morocco’s cooperation in this matter.

Survivors reported to Pakistani authorities that they had experienced violence and mistreatment before reaching Morocco.
