Morocco Rises to Third Place in “Trade Value Gaps” in the Arab World
Morocco has climbed to third place in the Arab world regarding the “Trade Value Gaps” index, driven by an increase in trade exchanges, according to recent data reflecting changes in the kingdom’s foreign trade structure.
This ranking is attributed to the widening gap between declared export and import values, which is linked to the growing trade flows and the diversification of partners, alongside the complexities of supply chains and differing valuation standards among countries.
These indicators highlight Morocco’s increasing engagement in international trade, benefiting from its geographical position and trade agreements. However, this also presents challenges related to improving transparency and strengthening monitoring mechanisms to close these gaps.
Observers believe that addressing this imbalance requires updating customs systems, developing tracking tools, and enhancing coordination with trading partners, contributing to ensuring data accuracy and improving the competitiveness of the national economy.
