Morocco calls for a united and firm Arab stance in response to Iranian escalation.

Morocco has raised the tone of its discourse within the Arab League, calling for a unified and resolute Arab front to address the ongoing Iranian escalation, asserting that the current phase can no longer tolerate isolated stances or limited reactions.

During a meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita emphasized that protecting Arab national security necessitates formulating a clear collective stance capable of deterring the increasing threats targeting the sovereignty and stability of states.

The Moroccan official stated that this approach must translate into concrete actions, including pressure to halt aggressions and obliging Iran to respect United Nations Security Council resolutions, along with supporting Arab countries in all measures they take to defend their security and enhance the protection of their air and maritime domains.

Bourita warned that the continuation of this escalation, in the absence of a unified Arab response, opens the door for the intensification of tensions and turns it into a direct threat to regional and international stability, especially with the targeting of civilian facilities and vital infrastructure.

He also highlighted that Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, has chosen to stand alongside Arab nations since the outbreak of the crisis, expressing a steadfast position condemning the aggressions and supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.

While stressing the necessity for firmness, the minister affirmed that Morocco sees no alternative to a diplomatic path to contain the crisis, urging support for all initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and avoiding the slide of the region into open confrontation.
