Morocco and Kenya Explore Strengthening Military Cooperation and Signing a Defense Agreement

On Monday, General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Region, welcomed Major General Charles Mwanzia Kahareri, Chief of the Kenya Defense Forces, at the General Headquarters in Rabat. This visit, which runs from March 30 to April 3, 2026, is led by a high-level military delegation.

According to a statement from the General Headquarters of the Royal Armed Forces, the meeting focused on discussing the friendship and military cooperation between Morocco and Kenya. Both parties emphasized their mutual desire to enhance these ties within a framework of trust.

The statement added that the two sides are in the process of studying a draft agreement to expand defense cooperation between the armed forces of both countries, aiming to strengthen military exchanges and expertise, and support the strategic partnership between Morocco and Kenya.
