Increase in Tourist Overnight Stays in Al Haouz by 4%

The Al Haouz region recorded a rise in the number of overnight stays in classified accommodation establishments during 2025, totaling approximately 1.383 million nights, representing a 4% increase compared to 2024, according to data released by the Tourism Observatory.

The observatory noted that the occupancy rate in the region’s accommodation facilities reached 78% by the end of December 2025, marking a four-point increase compared to the same period the previous year, reflecting improved attractiveness of the destination and a recovery in tourism activity dynamics.

Conversely, December alone saw a temporary decline, with approximately 108,000 overnight stays recorded, a decrease of 12% compared to December 2024, while the occupancy rate dropped to 63%, 12 points lower on an annual basis.

Nationally, the tourism sector continued its upward trajectory, with total overnight stays in classified accommodation establishments in Morocco exceeding 43.4 million nights in 2025, marking a 9% increase compared to 2024, and an occupancy rate of 58%, up by three points.

These indicators reflect the ongoing recovery of the tourism sector and enhance the status of mountainous and rural destinations within the national tourism offering, despite seasonal fluctuations that may impact monthly performance.
