Fuel prices in Morocco have seen a slight increase starting from the early hours of Sunday, March 1, 2026. The rise amounts to 25 cents per liter for both diesel and gasoline, marking a return to an upward trend in prices after a period of relative decline at the beginning of the year.

This increase was implemented gradually across various distribution stations throughout the kingdom, with some companies updating their price lists from Saturday night to Sunday, while others completed the adjustments during the day, depending on distribution pace and regional variations.

Prior to this increase, approximate selling prices were around 10.57 dirhams per liter for diesel and 12.26 dirhams for premium gasoline, with slight variations linked to transportation costs and each distributor’s strategy, amidst a deregulated fuel pricing system established since 2015.

This increase falls within the context of continuous fluctuations in the fuel market in Morocco since the beginning of 2026, following a wave of notable declines in January, when prices dropped as much as 65 cents for diesel. Prices began to rise again in February through consecutive increases, the latest of which occurred in the middle of the month at about 25 cents.

According to industry professionals, the new increase is not directly related to current geopolitical developments in the Middle East, although such events remain influential on global price trends in the medium term, given the local market’s connection to the international cost of imported refined products.

Final fuel prices at retail stations are subject to multiple factors, primarily shipping and storage costs, along with distribution margins, alongside geographical differences between regions, leading to relatively varying price levels among cities and regions.
