Four U.S. Soldiers Killed in Iran as Washington Deploys Reinforcements and Warns of Further Losses

The chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Kaine, announced that additional forces are en route to Iran, just hours after the U.S. military reported the death of a fourth soldier during ongoing combat operations there.

Kaine made his remarks during a press conference held at the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington, alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, where he provided updated information on Operation “Epic Fury,” launched by the United States on February 28. This operation targets Iranian missile sites and air defense systems, among other military objectives.

The military official emphasized that the campaign is not a quick operation that will conclude in one night, adding that military leadership expects additional losses in the upcoming phases of the operations.

On Monday, U.S. Central Command announced the death of four American soldiers in the area of operations. During the briefing, Kaine expressed his condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives while on duty.

While the chairman did not specify the number of reinforcements being sent, he noted an influx of more tactical aircraft into the operational area, clarifying that U.S. forces are nearing the level of combat capability and readiness that U.S. Central Command, led by Admiral Brad Cooper, aspires to achieve.
