Establishment of Over 12,000 Companies in the Marrakech-Safi Region in 2025

According to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property, a total of 12,341 new companies were established in the Marrakech-Safi region during 2025.

The dashboard of the business creation barometer issued by the office indicates that these companies are primarily divided between legal entities with 9,918 companies, and individuals with 2,423 companies.

The same source highlighted that the Marrakech prefecture ranked first in terms of the number of new companies established, with 9,614 new firms, followed by Al Haouz (949), Kelaa des Sraghna (527), Essaouira (526), Rhamna (306), Chichaoua (236), and Youssoufia (183).

In terms of activity sectors, the trade sector accounted for the largest share, representing 27.34% of all companies created last year, followed by construction and real estate (24.67%), various services (20.12%), hospitality and restaurants (10.24%), transport (6.41%), industry (5.58%), information and communication technology (2.65%), financial activities (1.84%), and agriculture and fishing (1.46%).

Regarding legal forms, 63.9% of newly established companies are single-member limited liability companies, followed by limited liability companies at 35.4%. Other legal forms account for 0.5%, while anonymous companies make up 0.2%.

On a national level, by the end of 2025, the total number of established companies reached 109,656, split between legal entities (78,622) and individuals (31,034).

The Casablanca-Settat region leads with a total of 33,959 established companies, followed by the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region (15,286), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (13,983), Marrakech-Safi (12,341), Souss-Massa (7,515), Fes-Meknes (7,454), the Eastern region (6,128), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (4,185), Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab (2,960), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (2,689), and Drâa-Tafilalet (2,313), with Guelmim-Oued Noun closing the list with 842 companies.
