Zakia Al-Driouch reveals the government’s plan to supply markets with fish during Ramadan and specifies when prices are expected to drop.
Zakia Al-Driouch announced the launch of a proactive plan to ensure that national markets are stocked with various types of fish throughout the month of Ramadan. She emphasized that the government has mobilized all stakeholders in the production and distribution chains to secure a sufficient and stable supply that meets the increasing demand.
The government official explained that the plan focuses on enhancing monitoring at unloading stations and wholesale markets, regulating distribution routes to mitigate speculation, and encouraging fishermen to increase supply rates in the period leading up to and during Ramadan.
Al-Driouch confirmed that current indicators suggest an anticipated abundance in supply, which is expected to contribute to a gradual decrease in prices as the second half of Ramadan approaches. She stressed that monitoring committees will intensify their interventions to ensure transaction transparency and protect citizens’ purchasing power.
