Trump Calls on Hamas to Completely Disarm Ahead of Washington Peace Council Meeting
The American president, Donald Trump, called on the Hamas movement today, Sunday, to relinquish its weapons “entirely and immediately” as part of efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Trump pointed out that the “Peace Council” he established has pledged to provide $5 billion for reconstructing the region, emphasizing in a post on his Truth Social platform the necessity for the movement to respect its commitments before the council’s first meeting scheduled for February 19 in Washington.
The American president’s call came amid international efforts to stabilize Gaza, with the Peace Council aiming to coordinate reconstruction efforts and enhance security and stability in the region following recent waves of violence.
