Second Edition of the Sculpture and Ceramics Forum: Honorary Guests Embody Artistic and Human References

With the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication – Culture Sector, in partnership with the Casablanca city council, and in coordination with the local development company Casablanca Events and Animation (Casa Events), as well as the Higher School of Fine Arts in Casablanca (ESBAC), the Athar Art Professional Association organized from February 12 to 28, 2026, the second edition of the Sculpture and Ceramics Forum at the Heritage Space (the former Cathedral of the Sacred Heart) and at the unique Belkahia Gallery affiliated with the Higher School of Fine Arts in Casablanca.

The forum honored artists whose artistic paths have deeply impacted the fields of sculpture and ceramics. These creators gathered as honorary guests, expressing artistic and human references and contributing to the transmission of an aesthetic heritage based on material work, critical thinking, and creative freedom.

Honoring

This edition dedicated an award to Abdelhak Sejlmassi, a prominent figure in the artistic scene, whose exemplary career demonstrates a lasting fidelity to meaning, artistic influence, and the depth of creative action. The forum also celebrated Abdelkarim Wazzani’s journey, whose work and commitment have significantly contributed to the establishment and recognition of contemporary artistic practices.

Honorary Guests

Ali Jabri develops an artistic approach that interacts experimentation and expression with a deep awareness of the material. Fattah Ben Amer integrates his work into a compositional research fueled by experience, observation, and memory. Sahbi Chetioui is distinguished by a precise sculptural approach that pays attention to form, body, and the internal tension of the material. Michel Gauthier offers a unique vision shaped by dialogue between cultures and extensive experience working with materials. Ichiko Inouzi presents an expressive and abstract work, where formal economy meets profound expressive density. Kamal Lakchou explores the concepts of structure and balance, granting form a contemplative dimension. Ikram Kabbaj asserts an artistic presence where sensitivity integrates with rigor in a personal compositional writing. James Koko Bi presents a powerful work, marked by the symbolic force of the impact and an organic relationship with the material. Abdelrahman Wardane includes his practice within a conscious continuity, focusing on knowledge transfer and craft memory. Abderrahman Rahoul develops a compositional language characterized by depth and simplicity, where material becomes a space for reflection. Moussa Zakani presents a work nourished by experience and long time, where impact and transformation hold a central place. Mohammed Zouzaff explores the expressive possibilities of form with disciplined freedom and a contemporary vision. Hamadi Ouahiishi concludes this ensemble with an approach rooted in the authenticity of impact and fidelity to the spirit of creativity.

Through these honorary guests, the forum reinforces its institutional message: honoring exemplary paths, enhancing dialogue between generations, and valuing sculpture and ceramics as fundamental disciplines in contemporary artistic creativity.
