The Moroccan Observatory for Public Procurement adopts its 2026 work program to enhance transparency and governance.
In a meeting held on February 12 in Rabat, the Moroccan Observatory for Public Procurement approved its work program for 2026, marking a year since its establishment.
According to a statement from the observatory, this meeting was dedicated to reviewing the activity report for 2025 and the current year’s work program, with the aim of establishing the observatory as a trusted reference and knowledge center in the field of public procurement.
The same source pointed out that 2025 was a pivotal year in activating the observatory’s tasks, as several essential initiatives were launched, including establishing leadership mechanisms and management tools, amid growing demands for transparency and efficiency in the public procurement system.
The achievements recorded over the past year reflect a positive dynamic and a clear commitment to improving practices and enhancing the quality of public procurement management, the statement noted.
Regarding the outlook for 2026, the observatory’s program focuses on enhancing the comprehensiveness of available data, deepening analyses, and developing tools for monitoring public procurement performance, thereby supporting decision-making and improving public spending governance.
It is noteworthy that the observatory was established by a decree issued in April 2024 and is based at the Treasury of the Kingdom, as part of the implementation of regulatory provisions related to public procurement.
The establishment of this body is part of the commitment to uphold the right to access information enshrined in the 2011 constitution, serving as a mechanism to enhance transparency through the regular publication of indicators and data related to public procurement.
