The energy bill is forecasted to decline to approximately 107.5 billion dirhams in 2025.
The Foreign Exchange Office reported that the energy bill reached around 107.56 billion dirhams in 2025, marking a decrease of 5.5 percent compared to the previous year.
The office, in its latest publication regarding monthly external trade indicators, indicated that this drop is primarily due to a 9.7 percent decline in supplies of diesel and fuel oil, affected by a 14.5 percent drop in prices. This occurred despite a recorded increase in imported quantities by 5.6 percent.
The same source added that imports of “liquefied petroleum gases and other fuels” also experienced a decrease of 8.8 percent, settling at around 19.4 billion dirhams.
In the same context, merchandise imports in 2025 saw a growth of 8 percent, exceeding 822.22 billion dirhams.
