Oil prices dropped today, heading towards weekly losses after a wave of volatility in global markets.

Brent crude futures fell by 28 cents, or 0.4%, settling at $70.47 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate crude futures declined by 29 cents, or 0.44%, to $64.92 per barrel.

On a weekly basis, Brent is expected to register a decline of about 1.8%, while West Texas Intermediate is anticipated to drop around 2.2%, potentially erasing some of the gains both benchmarks achieved last week.
