The ninth congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea has re-elected leader Kim Jong Un as the party’s General Secretary during its session held today in the capital, Pyongyang. This decision was marked by a formal announcement of complete consensus within the party, army, and the people.
According to the Korean Central News Agency, the re-election decision was made based on a “solid” consensus, aimed at strengthening the party’s leadership and accelerating the country’s development and prosperity.
This decision came on the fourth day of the congress, which is expected to conclude with the announcement of major strategic directions for the next five years, particularly in the fields of economy, defense, and foreign policy, as part of a plan designed to tackle domestic challenges and international pressures.
