Morocco Enhances Its Agricultural Presence at the Paris Exhibition with Cooperatives and Regional Products
Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Ahmed Bouari, accompanied by Morocco’s Ambassador to France, Samira Sitaïl, inaugurated the Moroccan pavilion at the International Agricultural Show in Paris, held from February 21 to March 1.
Spanning an area of 300 square meters under the motto “Morocco, Centuries of Flavors,” the Moroccan pavilion showcases the richness and diversity of local products, featuring 30 groups representing 46 cooperatives and over 740 small farmers, with rural women making up 61% of the participants.
The national space presents a variety of products, including argan oil, Taliouine saffron, Medjool dates, olive oil, carob, aromatic and medicinal plants, and spices, all aimed at valuing agricultural heritage and enhancing its presence in international markets.
The minister emphasized that Morocco’s participation, now in its thirteenth consecutive year, serves as an international platform to promote the quality of national products, highlighting the ministry’s support for cooperatives through quality improvement, marketing, and enhancing their access to foreign markets.
For his part, the Director General of the Agricultural Development Agency stated that all regions of the kingdom are represented at this event, which is witnessing significant interest from visitors, especially with the growing demand for Moroccan products during Ramadan.
This participation is part of efforts to develop the marketing of local products and open avenues for partnerships and exports to European markets, aligning with the objectives of the Green Generation Strategy 2020-2030, which aims to enhance national products, improve the income of small farmers, and establish an agricultural middle class.
The International Agricultural Show in Paris is one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in the world, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors and professionals, decision-makers, and researchers in the fields of agriculture, food industries, and agricultural innovation each year.
