Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, sent a congratulatory message to Gianni Infantino on the occasion of the ten-year anniversary of his election as President of FIFA, praising what he called the structural transformations that have reshaped the world’s leading football organization.

Lekjaa noted that Infantino’s decade of leadership has seen a comprehensive reworking of FIFA’s operational mechanisms, particularly in governance and financial management. The adopted reforms have enhanced transparency and doubled resources, which, he stated, has influenced the level of investment directed towards developing the game across various continents.

He explained that this momentum has not only been financial but has also extended to the structuring of international competitions, whether concerning the men’s World Cup or youth tournaments and women’s football, within a vision aimed at expanding participation and promoting equal opportunities for benefiting from football development programs.

The president referred to what he described as the “globalization of football,” asserting that it has provided Africa with a broader scope for presence and impact within the international framework, allowing Morocco to strengthen its position on the global football map.

In this context, he mentioned the organization of the 2030 World Cup jointly between Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, highlighting that hosting the centenary edition of the tournament reflects the confidence of the international football community in the kingdom’s organizational capabilities and its role as a bridge between continents.

He also praised the selection of Rabat as the headquarters for FIFA’s regional office dedicated to developing African football, considering that this step will enhance training programs and support infrastructure projects and skill development within the continent.

Lekjaa concluded by reaffirming Morocco’s continued support for Infantino, emphasizing that national federations, particularly in Africa, have felt a direct impact from the new resources injected into the football system, making it a lever for development and the rapprochement of peoples.
