Exclusive to Express TV | The Federation Paves the Way for Wahbi While Ben Mahmoud Remains… Negotiations with a French Assistant and Analyst List Determined

Express TV: Mustafa Filali

In a continuous follow-up on the latest developments of the national team, “Express TV” learned that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation is committed to keeping Rachid Ben Mahmoud within the new technical staff, set to succeed former national coach Walid Regragui. This decision comes despite Ben Mahmoud’s desire to leave, due to his excellent relationships with the players and his special status within the group, as he is considered one of the closest figures to the players, possessing detailed knowledge of their capabilities and behaviors on and off the field.

In terms of the new team formation, the current trend is moving towards appointing Mohamed Wahbi as the head coach. Wahbi has already begun preparing the national team’s roster for the upcoming March gathering, which is a crucial preparatory step to identify target names and upcoming friendly matches. Advanced negotiations are underway to include a French assistant in the technical staff, aiming to support the new coach with European experience and enhance the tactical aspects of the team. Should an agreement not be reached with Ben Mahmoud, the closest alternative is Youssef Hajji joining Wahbi to ensure continuous technical and tactical support for the players.

Regarding performance analysis, the list of technical analysts for the national team has been finalized, which includes Ayman Makroud and Ismail Tassi, the son of well-known coach Rachid Tassi, while Moussa Alhabshi and Harrison Kingston have been retained. This decision aligns with the Federation’s commitment to forming a comprehensive working team that covers all technical aspects, from monitoring individual player performance to preparing tactical reports for each match.

These preparations represent part of the Federation’s strategy to elevate the national team’s performance level, combining local experience that is close to the players with foreign expertise that enhances the technical staff. This approach underscores the Federation’s commitment to technical stability, avoiding conflicts or sudden changes that might affect the team’s preparations, especially with the March gathering approaching, which will serve as a real test for the new coach and his accompanying technical staff.
