Arrest of Omani National at Mohammed V Airport Wanted Internationally in Fraud Case
National security services at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca arrested a 37-year-old Omani national on January 5, 2026, who was subject to an international arrest warrant issued by judicial authorities in Oman.
The individual was apprehended while preparing to leave the country on a flight to Cairo, after identity verification revealed that he was wanted internationally on suspicion of involvement in a fraud case.
According to available information, the suspect has been placed under extradition procedures, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, pending the completion of the legal procedures applicable in such cases. Omani authorities have been notified of the arrest through official security cooperation channels.
This intervention reflects, according to security sources, the ongoing commitment of Moroccan security services to activate international cooperation mechanisms, particularly in tracking and apprehending individuals wanted for transnational crime.
