Rachid Talbi Alami Receives the President of the Constitutional Council of Chad in Rabat and Reviews the Experience of the Moroccan Parliament
On Friday, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, received the President of the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Chad, Badaari Jean Bernard, at the council’s headquarters in Rabat. The meeting was part of an official visit by the Chadian delegation to the Kingdom.
The discussions focused on exchanging views regarding the institutional reforms underway in Morocco, within the framework of the major initiatives launched under the leadership of King Mohammed VI. They also explored avenues to enhance collaboration between Rabat and N’Djamena, particularly at the parliamentary level, whether bilaterally or within multilateral settings.
During the talks, Talbi Alami presented an overview of the evolution of parliamentary work in Morocco since the 1960s, highlighting constitutional transformations that have strengthened the position of the legislative institution and its relations with other bodies, primarily the Moroccan Constitutional Court, which serves as a key guarantor of the balance of powers.
For his part, Badaari Jean Bernard outlined the structure and functions of the Constitutional Council of Chad, emphasizing its roles in monitoring the constitutionality of laws and in organizing the relationship between the branches of government, especially in coordination with the legislative authority.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Chad to the Kingdom, Hassan Adoum Behket Hagar, along with several officials and administrative staff from both sides, indicating a mutual desire to give a new impetus to the paths of institutional cooperation between the two countries.
