Al Hoceima: Partnership Agreement to Enhance Health Services and Support Human Resources

A strategic partnership agreement has been signed at the Al Hoceima provincial headquarters to enhance human resources in the health sector of the province. The agreement was presided over by Fouad Hajji, the provincial governor, and Mohamed Akkouri, the general director of the regional health group for the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, in the presence of several local elected officials.

This agreement brings together the Al Hoceima provincial council, its affiliated local communities, and the regional health group, as part of a participatory approach aimed at improving the quality of health services and expanding the reach of citizens, especially in rural, remote, and hard-to-access areas.

The annual budget allocated for this project will reach about 10 million dirhams for the years 2026 and 2027, distributed between the provincial council at 20%, the regional health group at 40%, and local communities also at 40%.

The project, part of the community health program focusing on maternal and child health, aims to bring health services closer to citizens, strengthen the roles of primary health care institutions and maternity wards, monitor pregnant women, address cases of developmental delay in children, encourage childbirth within monitored health facilities, and intensify awareness and information campaigns while enhancing coordination among various stakeholders.

The event also witnessed the delivery of six ambulances and two mobile health units acquired under the National Initiative for Human Development for 2025, at a total cost of 3.7 million dirhams, to support proximity services and reduce regional disparities in access to health care.

This initiative aims to reduce the shortage of human resources in the health sector, ensure the continuity of services, and improve their quality within a territorial governance framework that emphasizes coordination and integration among all partners.
