Agadir Hosts Final Planning Meeting for “African Lion 2026” Exercise
Agadir – On Thursday, the final planning meeting for the “African Lion 2026” exercise concluded at the Southern Zone command headquarters, with military delegations from Morocco, the United States, and several other partner countries in attendance.
The meeting, which was held from February 2 to 6, focused on various organizational and operational aspects of the exercise, emphasizing interoperability, logistical support, and the integration of forces participating in land, air, and maritime operations, as well as special forces operations. These discussions provided a platform for exchanging experiences and enhancing coordination among the participating forces, thereby improving the operational readiness of each country involved.
The “African Lion 2026” exercise is scheduled to take place between April 20 and May 8 in the regions of Agadir, Tan-Tan, Taroudant, Kenitra, and Ben Guerir. The exercise aims to strengthen joint cooperation among participating countries and enhance the ability to conduct integrated operations, while also contributing to the security and stability of the region.
