Morocco and Indonesia at the Forefront of Proposed International Force for Security and Stability in Gaza

Diplomatic sources have confirmed that Morocco and Indonesia are the two primary countries expected to provide the bulk of the troops intended for deployment in the Gaza Strip, as part of a comprehensive American plan to maintain stability in the region, with Morocco anticipated to play a leading role in this international effort. The American publication Axios reported that the plan includes establishing a temporary international administration for the territory and forming a Peace Council chaired by the American president, alongside deploying an international force with extensive powers in coordination with Israel and Egypt.

In mid-November 2025, the United Nations Security Council approved a resolution supporting this initiative, with 13 members voting in favor while Russia and China abstained, reflecting some differences regarding the mechanisms for implementation and practical details. Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed doubts about the feasibility of the plan, citing statements from Israel and Hamas regarding violations of the initiative’s terms, highlighting potential political and security challenges for the force deployment.

Morocco remains one of the most prominent countries expected to contribute military and administrative support to this international mission, while discussions continue among the involved parties regarding troop size, deployment mechanisms, funding, and regional support.
