Christian Mante praises Morocco’s organization of the Africa Cup and considers it a global model for major events.
The organization of major sporting events has evolved for Morocco from a temporary challenge to a conscious strategic choice aimed at presenting the country in its entirety: organized, open, and capable of transforming an event into added value that goes beyond the stadium. As it prepares to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025, this commitment is being practically realized on the ground, amidst international praise for the event’s quality and the depth of its vision.
With its hosting of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025, Morocco has once again demonstrated its ability to organize major sporting events and turn them into effective tools for enhancing tourism appeal. This model combines sporting success with a strategic vision for promoting Morocco as an international destination.
In this context, Christian Mante, President of Atout France, lauded the meticulous organization of the Africa Cup of Nations, highlighting the comprehensive vision that guides the tourism experience in the Kingdom. He noted that this event transcends its sporting aspect to become a genuine showcase for Morocco’s diverse capabilities.
Mante emphasized that the Africa Cup of Nations reveals a truth that has become clear: Morocco once again proves its readiness to host international events of the highest caliber, where different aspects operate smoothly and harmoniously. He regarded this success as a reflection of a clear strategic vision led by the Moroccan National Tourism Office, aimed at transforming every sporting event into a sustainable tourism lever.
He added that this expertise is underpinned by robust infrastructure, strong logistics, and a deep-rooted culture of hospitality, indicating that Morocco presents itself as an organized country confident in its ability to welcome the world. He also highlighted that the management of the Africa Cup of Nations enhances the Kingdom’s international image and encourages visitors to extend their stay, aligning with the promotional goals of the Moroccan National Tourism Office.
For his part, Patrice Karadek, President of the National Union of Tourism Organizers (SETO), stated that the Africa Cup of Nations has had an immediate and positive impact on Morocco’s image, considering the event a safe occasion that bolsters the confidence of tourism organizers. He noted that the Moroccan destination has proven its capacity to accommodate large numbers of visitors without compromising service quality.
Karadek pointed out that extensive international media coverage of the tournament contributes to presenting a modern, organized, and hospitable Morocco, emphasizing that sport has become an effective tool for tourism promotion by showcasing the diversity of regions and rich experiences, with the Moroccan National Tourism Office playing a pivotal role in giving every event dimensions that extend beyond mere sporting competition.
Both officials stressed that the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025 transcends its athletic framework, serving as a major platform that showcases Morocco’s expertise in infrastructure, logistics, security, and hospitality. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the Morocco 2030 Foundation, and the promotional strategy led by the Moroccan National Tourism Office, Morocco is set to make a new appointment with the world, this time through the dual lens of football and tourism.
