British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper condemned the “horrific” crackdown on protesters in Iran and called for an immediate cessation of violence following a phone call with her Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.

Cooper stated through her account on X that “the crimes and violent suppression of peaceful protesters in Iran are horrifying,” emphasizing that she urged Araghchi to respect fundamental rights and freedoms and ensure the safety of British citizens in the country.
