The Royal Armed Forces Enhance Academic Excellence Through the “Excellence Grant” Program
The Royal Armed Forces continue to support academic excellence through the “Excellence Grant” program, which is part of their efforts to improve social services aimed at the children of military personnel and employees of the Ministry of Defense, both active and retired, as well as beneficiaries affiliated with the General Directorate of Social Affairs and the Hassan II Foundation for Social Works for Veterans and Former Fighters.
Students who achieve an average score of at least 17 out of 20 in the baccalaureate examinations are eligible for this grant, which is awarded based on merit according to the results from regional education and training academies.
The grant provides a monthly amount of 1,000 dirhams for ten months each year, covering the duration of the university course, which is set at five years.
Since the program’s launch in 2019, approximately 600 students have benefited from it. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the number of beneficiaries has reached 102, including 61 from the General Directorate of Social Affairs and 41 from the Hassan II Foundation for Social Works for Veterans and Former Fighters.
The program highlights the success stories of certain individuals, including one student with special needs, who have excelled academically and benefited from the grant. This reflects the Royal Armed Forces’ commitment to enabling all outstanding students regardless of their social circumstances.
