Security apprehends 118 individuals involved in the ticket speculation for “CAN” Morocco 2025

Police operations aimed at combating speculation and illegal trading of tickets for the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations 2025 in Morocco have resulted in the arrest of 118 people, who are now undergoing judicial investigations under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutors.

These interventions came during the first phase of the group stage after the security vigilance system detected dozens of advertisements and posts on social media offering tickets for sale illegally and at prices exceeding their actual value. Technical investigations, supported by field operations, identified the suspects and led to their arrest in several cities across the kingdom, particularly those hosting continental championship matches.

The criminal activities attributed to the arrested individuals varied, including selling access tickets outside of legal channels, forgery and its use, tampering with electronic data processing systems, as well as defrauding those looking to purchase tickets from the black market, in addition to fabricating and spreading false news related to the Africa Cup of Nations 2025.

Under orders from the competent public prosecutors, judicial investigations were launched against those involved, with some being presented while under arrest, while others remained free, depending on the nature and scale of the actions attributed to them.

In this context, the authorities confirmed that security operations will continue in full coordination between security services and local authorities to combat all forms of ticket speculation, whether through information vigilance or field interventions aimed at detaining those involved and protecting fans from black market practices.
