The initiative “Nation First and Always” has expressed its deep sorrow over two tragic incidents that occurred in Morocco during December, resulting in the deaths of dozens of citizens due to building collapses in Fes and heavy rains in Asfi.

In a solidarity statement, the executive office extended its heartfelt condolences, on its own behalf and on behalf of all members of the initiative both within the country and abroad, to the families of the victims. It paid tribute to the souls of the deceased and affirmed its support for the grieving families during this difficult humanitarian period.

The statement urged the government and public authorities to broaden their material and moral support for the families of the victims and to care for the orphans who lost their providers. It also called for assistance to professionals whose businesses were damaged, alongside seeking safe alternatives for homes and shops at risk of collapse.

The executive office emphasized the necessity of intensifying and expanding the judicial investigations being carried out by the public prosecutor’s office, in order to uncover the real causes behind these two tragedies, determine accountability, and take the necessary legal actions against anyone found culpable or negligent.

Additionally, the statement called for the swift implementation of preventive and serious solutions to prevent the recurrence of such painful events, ensuring the safety of citizens and preserving their dignity.

In concluding the statement, the initiative urged citizens and its members to provide all possible support to the families of the victims and to collaborate with authorities and stakeholders in a spirit of solidarity and national responsibility.

The statement was signed by the head of the executive office, Aziz Rabbah.
