CAF Reprimands Algeria’s Team Over Disrespect Towards Moroccan Symbols at Accommodation Hotel
According to reliable media sources, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) issued a reprimand and a strict warning to the Algerian national team participating in the Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Morocco, following an incident deemed unacceptable at one of the accommodation hotels.
This decision came after surveillance camera footage showed a member of the delegation obstructing an image of the Moroccan monarch from the hotel’s lobby, as well as hiding the Moroccan flag that was displayed among the flags of the participating teams.
Informed sources confirmed that CAF intervened immediately to rectify the situation within the hotel, issuing a clear warning to team officials on the need to respect the symbols of the host country and adhere to the values upheld by the Africa Cup of Nations.
CAF emphasized in its communication with the concerned delegation its absolute rejection of any behavior that could introduce political considerations into the continental competition, reminding that the tournament serves as a unifying sports platform based on mutual respect and reflecting the spirit of brotherhood among African nations.
