The Ministry of Interior announced yesterday, Monday, the commencement of the annual review of the electoral lists and professional chamber lists for the year 2026, setting December 31 as the final deadline for submitting new registration applications or updating existing information. This process is part of the authorities’ efforts to update the voter registry and ensure its transparency ahead of the upcoming elections.
In an official statement, the ministry noted that registration is open to all unregistered citizens, especially young people who will reach the legal voting age of 18 before March 31, 2026. The initiative encompasses electoral lists related to professional sectors in agriculture, trade, industry, and fishing, alongside general lists.
To simplify procedures, the authorities have made online registration available through a designated portal, while still allowing for direct registration at local authority offices. As for professionals, the ministry emphasized that registration requests must be submitted exclusively through the administrative services relevant to their professional activities, considering the specificity of sectoral representation.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the annual review aims to update data related to demographic changes and population movements, urging individuals who have changed their place of residence or professionals who have altered their activities or the professional framework they belong to, to swiftly submit requests for registration transfer to avoid discrepancies between their actual address and electoral district.
This review represents an important organizational step in the national electoral agenda, serving as a mechanism for regulating the electoral map and providing an accurate database to help ensure the integrity of electoral processes, enabling citizens to exercise their constitutional rights to vote and run for office.
