Tétouan Suspends Classes in Anticipation of Bad Weather for the Safety of Students and Educational Staff

The Regional Directorate of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports in Tétouan has announced the suspension of classes today, Monday, December 15, 2025, in all educational institutions within the region. This exceptional decision was made in response to warnings related to expected weather conditions.

In an official statement issued on the evening of Sunday, December 14, 2025, the Directorate explained that this decision was based on weather alert number 2025/146, issued by the National Meteorological Directorate, which warned of potential severe weather disturbances, including heavy rains, stormy winds, and unstable conditions in several areas, including the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region.

The Regional Directorate emphasized that this measure was implemented following the recommendations of the provincial vigilance cell and in complete coordination with the local authorities, prioritizing the safety of students and educational and administrative staff. They stressed the importance of taking necessary precautions while traveling under difficult weather conditions.

The Directorate called on all families and sector workers to adhere to this decision and stay updated on official announcements from relevant authorities regarding developments in weather conditions. They affirmed that the suspension of classes is part of proactive preventive measures aimed at protecting everyone and avoiding any potential risks.

This step is part of a broader response across the north of the country to suspend classes in several other provinces and regions, including the Al Hoceima region, which also announced the suspension of classes for the same day in light of similar weather warnings. This reflects the coordination of educational authorities with meteorological agencies to safeguard students amidst ongoing weather disturbances.
