The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Monday the seizure of “SAM-7” missiles before they could be smuggled out of the country.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Interior indicated that “accurate information was received by the security directorate in Al-Bukamal, in the eastern region of the country, regarding the concealment of anti-aircraft missiles inside one of the houses, in preparation for their smuggling outside the country.”
The statement added that “based on this information, a precise raid was conducted which resulted in the seizure of the SAM-7 missiles,” noting that the seized weapons were confiscated.
The same source pointed out that the relevant authorities have begun investigations to pursue all those involved, with the aim of apprehending them and bringing them to justice, affirming their commitment to combating all smuggling activities and illegal operations while taking all necessary measures to ensure the country’s security and stability.
