The Public Prosecution and the Supreme Judicial Council signed a partnership agreement this Wednesday morning in Rabat with the Committee for the Right to Access Information. The agreement aims to integrate components of the judiciary into the national portal for the right to access information, solidifying citizens’ constitutional right to access information.

The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Supreme Judicial Council, overseen by the council’s deputy president, Mohamed Abdennabaoui, the Attorney General at the Court of Cassation and head of the Public Prosecution, Hicham Belahrach, and the president of the Committee for the Right to Access Information, Omar Sghroshni.

This agreement seeks to establish an institutional framework for cooperation and coordination between the signing parties, ensuring the facilitation of processing requests for information and enhancing proactive publication of available data while respecting legal provisions related to the protection of private life, personal data, and confidentiality of judicial investigations.

On this occasion, the head of the Public Prosecution asserted that the right to access information is one of the fundamental rights related to citizenship and the exercise of freedoms. It plays a vital role in building trust in administration, embedding principles of integrity and transparency, and strengthening the relationship between administration and beneficiaries within the framework of a state governed by law.

The signing of this agreement reflects the commitment of judicial components and the Committee for the Right to Access Information to support the judiciary’s engagement in the national transparency system and to enhance confidence in justice through institutional openness and communication with citizens.
