Lahcen Saadi from Tangier: The Youth of “RNI” at the Heart of the Party Project and Listening to Citizens Is a Choice Without Populism
The city of Tangier witnessed a new phase of the “Path of Achievements” meetings organized by the National Rally of Independents (RNI) party in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region on Saturday, December 20. The event featured a strong speech by Lahcen Saadi, President of the National Federation of RNI Youth, conveying direct political messages primarily aimed at the youth.
In his address, Saadi emphasized that youth do not hold a secondary position within the RNI project; rather, they are at the core of the party’s political vision. This comes with direct guidance from its leader Aziz Akhannouch, not only in terms of rhetoric but through active participation in decision-making and taking on responsibilities. He affirmed that this direction has been translated into practice by enabling several young individuals to lead local councils, take on elective roles, and contribute to implementing government programs.
Saadi stated clearly that the party has chosen to confront destructive discourses that sow despair and promote a bleak image of Morocco’s future, particularly among the youth. He noted that “RNI” relies on a positive and responsible narrative that believes in institutions and the royal leadership steering the path of development, acknowledging challenges but affirming the real capacity to overcome them.
The head of RNI youth pointed out that the status of youth within the party is exceptional compared to other parties, which tend to view youth merely as temporary tools during election campaigns or as fuel for digital battles. He highlighted that RNI youth act with the party’s values and principles, remaining loyal to the kingdom’s directives.
In the context of preparing for the upcoming electoral opportunities, Saadi urged Moroccans to choose between a political model that builds hope and advocates for joy, culture, and life, versus another that promotes despair and opposes its manifestations. He also affirmed that the RNI is dedicated to combating pessimism and advocating for Morocco’s social protection, health, and employment, with programs primarily directed at today’s and tomorrow’s youth.
Saadi concluded his speech by affirming that the party instills in its members values of respect, discipline, and gratitude, presenting a model of engaged and confident youth who love their country and king, participating in construction from within institutions. He also responded to those who question the organization of the “Path of Achievements” meetings, labeling them as populists, and asserted that the party conducts these meetings “with love and responsibility,” engaging directly with citizens to listen to their concerns, following royal directives aimed at strengthening the relationship between parties and society.
