In a significant address during the “Path of Achievements” meeting in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, held in Tangier on Saturday, December 20, Mustafa Bettas, a leader in the National Rally of Independents party and the government’s spokesperson, emphasized that Morocco is currently experiencing not just ordinary development but major transitions fueled by a clear will and royal directives, positioning the Moroccan experience as a leading model for rights and democracy in the region and beyond.

Bettas opened his speech by thanking Adib Seliki for his excellent management and organization of the event, while also praising the professional role of the regional and national press in covering and responsibly following the “Path of Achievements” meetings.

The government spokesperson noted that the country’s developments encompassed vital strategic sectors, including agriculture through the Green Morocco Plan, tourism, and renewable energy, asserting that these transformations are part of a comprehensive reform vision.

Regarding the distinctiveness of the National Rally of Independents, Bettas clarified that the party, since its involvement in various governments and even during times in opposition, has proactively engaged in the path of rights transition and economic reforms, highlighting the role of Aziz Akhannouch in the agriculture sector since 2007. He added that the party has consistently contributed its ideas and proposals at all political junctures in Morocco.

He also reflected on the 2021 milestone, stating that the party opted to oversee sectors with a clear social dimension, driven by the conviction of the need for deep reforms essential for the nation. He mentioned the party’s experience in opposition in 2012, where it played a critical role in confronting the proposed project at that time.

In the legislative context, Bettas revealed that the government has approved four laws described as the largest in Morocco’s history, including the alternative penalties law, the law related to commercial cities, the criminal procedure code, and a significant reform related to labor indemnities.

Concluding his speech, the assembly leader affirmed that the National Rally of Independents is actively and responsibly keeping pace with national transformations, characterizing the party as resilient and persistent, possessing the long-term vision necessary for serving the issues of the nation and its citizens.
