Amin Tahravi Presides Over Second Session of the Moroccan Blood Agency’s Board of Directors to Enhance National Health Security
Amin Tahravi, Minister of Health and Social Protection, chaired the second session of the Board of Directors of the Moroccan Blood Agency and its derivatives on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. The meeting was attended by Kamal Daghmi, the Agency’s General Director, board members, representatives of various ministries, and partner institutions, as part of ongoing efforts to implement reforms in the national health system in accordance with the royal directives.
The meeting focused on strategic issues related to the development of the blood sector and its derivatives, enhancing the donation and distribution system, and improving the governance of the Agency to ensure the sustainability of its vital services and bolster national health security.
The agenda included the review of the 2025 Annual Report, the work program for the period 2026-2028, and the budget estimate for 2026. Additionally, the creation of an Internal Audit Committee was discussed, alongside the review of national and international partnership agreements, and decisions concerning the management of the Agency’s real estate assets were made.
The Minister emphasized the importance of national blood security as a fundamental pillar for health equity and the continuity of healthcare services. He stressed the need for a comprehensive vision grounded in regular investments, effective coordination among various stakeholders, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
He also called for an increase in the blood donation rate, the development of regional centers, the acceleration of digital transformation, and support for specialized training and research in this vital field. The Minister highlighted the Agency’s crucial role in organizing and monitoring the blood supply system and ensuring the readiness of health services.
Furthermore, he underscored the need to strengthen proactive monitoring mechanisms and enhance the logistical and institutional capacities of the Agency, with the aim of improving efficiency and effectiveness in public interventions. He called for a collective mobilization to ensure sustainable funding and equitable geographical coverage of blood transport services, thereby enhancing citizens’ trust in the national health system.
It is worth noting that the Moroccan Blood Agency and its derivatives are responsible for organizing and ensuring the quality and safety of blood and its derivatives, monitoring distribution operations, activating alarm and monitoring systems, and contributing to the continuous training of health professionals, as well as licensing blood banks within health institutions to ensure the sustainability of therapeutic offerings and reinforce national health security.
